Wilderness Rec Students Complete Winter Practicum

Students in the college's Wilderness Recreation Leadership program recently completed their winter practicum in the Adirondacks. The group spent nine days in the Eastern High Peaks, backpacking and learning to navigate and work as a team in colder weather.

NCCC to host Welcoming and Belonging Micro-credential

The Adirondack North Country Association (ANCA) and Adirondack Diversity Initiative (ADI) have announced the launch of a new, fully virtual micro-credential course for North Country businesses and nonprofits committed to making their businesses and workplaces more welcoming and inclusive for diverse staff and clientele. The online Welcoming and Belonging Micro-credential will be offered through North Country Community College (NCCC) starting later this month.

Pinning Ceremony Celebrates First Hybrid Nursing Class

The first graduates of North Country Community College's new hybrid nursing program were celebrated this past weekend at their pinning ceremony in the Harrietstown Town Hall auditorium.

Women's Soccer Duo Earns All-American Honors

Ella Rejiba, of Halifax, England, and Hannah Gaddor, of Moriah, are the first North Country Community College women's soccer players to be named All-Americans in the history of the college.

OPWDD, SUNY, NCCC recognize first DSP Microcredential students

The New York State Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and The State University of New York (SUNY) joined with North Country Community College on Thursday, May 30 to recognize 41 students enrolled in the SUNY Direct Support Professional Microcredential Program. The first cohort of 25 students are expected to complete certification by this fall and another 19 students have just begun. Direct support professionals help people with developmental disabilities succeed with daily living tasks, achieve their goals and participate fully in their communities.
