Loeb’s design, which features the college’s logo, green and white colors, and an abstract mountain range, will be featured on new banners that will be hung at the Malone campus.

“When I first heard about the design contest my overall vision was to create a design representing the North Country and our college,” Loeb said. “When thinking about what I wanted to do my mind immediately thought of mountains. Secondly, I wanted to incorporate the North Country logo to give an official and personalized design for the college. Lastly, I wanted to incorporate the school's green and white colors into the design.”

Loeb said it took her some time to finalize the design of the mountains. She wasn’t sure initially whether to have them be more realistic or abstract.

“Eventually, after going through the process of designing, it was time for final editing,” she said. “During final editing, the goal is to make sure the design is both graphically sound and functional. Making sure the design looks good and makes sense; as well as making sure the viewers can read it from a distance. Ultimately, my final design was an abstract mountain range with a green background and white lettering for the North Country logo.”

“I am very thankful to the college for the amazing opportunity to design the banners for our Malone campus! This is something I will appreciate and remember forever.”

The banners featuring Loeb’s design will be hung on campus in early May.
