Secondary Review Policy
Secondary Review Procedure
College transcripts are reviewed by the Registrar using the SUNY database to determine how prior coursework may transfer. When an equivalency exists, the appropriate credit is awarded and posted to the student’s academic transcript.
If a course does not have an established NCCC equivalency, the Registrar initiates a Secondary Review Process in collaboration with the appropriate Program Coordinator or Director. This review includes an evaluation of the course description, and if necessary, the course syllabus, to determine whether the course may be accepted for transfer.
If credit is denied at this level, the Vice President of Academic Affairs will make the final decision.
