Tuesday, September 20, 2022, from 10am to 3:00pm  

Join students from SUNY Nassau, Cortland, and Plattsburgh to discuss money in politics!  Learn how the Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission impacts your vote and the upcoming November election.  

Students from any SUNY campus can join one or more of the program sessions at the separate registration links below.  At the end of the third and final session, students will have an opportunity to register to vote with our assistance.   

  • Keynote. Allen Groves, Senior Vice President and Chief Student Experience Officer, Syracuse University.  10am-11:15am.  Registration link for Keynote 
  • Video and “Talk-Back.”  Students and local elected officials across party lines discuss money in politics. 11:15am-12:30pm, with optional virtual Lunch Reflection from 12:30 to 1:00.  Registration link for video and Talk-Back.
  • Moderated Deliberative Dialogue across three SUNY campuses, followed by student voter registration assistance.  Dialogue - 1:00pm-2:15pm. Register to vote = 2:30-3:00.  Registration link for the Deliberative Dialogue and Voter Registration Assistance.
