With the safety of all students, faculty and staff of North Country Community College a
paramount priority, the college continues to monitor the COVID-19 crisis. The college's
COVID-19 Task Force continues to meet on a regular basis to prepare, respond and implement
our protocols and plans. This work is being done in consultation with SUNY, the New
York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), Essex County Public Health, Franklin County
Public Health, and Adirondack Health.

Sept. 11, 2020 - Surveillance Testing for any on-campus students will begin soon. Additionally, on-campus
appointment-only support services, like our LAC and libaries, will not be avaible
until at least Monday, Sept. 21, but remain available remotely. Please refer to this

Sept. 18, 2020 - The college issued information about COVID testing for any students who will be on
campus today on the Fall 2020 page and via our student e-newsletter, The Connector.
The college also published an updated Fall 2020 Campus Restart Plan.
Sept. 30, 2020 - The college issued a notification to students, faculty and staff of a positive COVID-19 case of a student taking online classes. The notification included
additional information about the start of the college's surveillance testing procedures.
Oct. 1, 2020 - The college issued notice to students via email of SUNY's Uniform Sanctions Policy regarding COVID-19 Safety Protocols. The specifics of the policy are posted on the college website.
Nov. 23, 2020 - The college notified students of its Spring 2021 Semester plan in an email today. The college plans to provide most instruction online. Decisions
about Spring 2021 athletics and Spring Break, and more details about each plan element
will be released as soon as possible.

As a reminder, CDC always recommends everyday preventive actions to help prevent the spread of respiratory diseases, including:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
