My name is Ernest Hough. You can call me Ernie, Prof. Hough, or Ernest. I grew up
in Lake Placid and am a proud United States Army Veteran spending 4 years as an Infantryman
with the 6th Infantry Division (L) Ft. Wainwright, Ak. and the 7th Infantry Division
                           (L) Ft. Ord, Ca. I am a graduate of the North Country Community College Chemical Dependency
Counseling program, Class of ’06. I then transferred to SUNY Plattsburgh graduating
with a bachelor’s degree in social work. I eventually received my master’s degree
in public administration with a specialization in non-profit management and leadership.
I have over twenty years in the Human Service field, recently retiring as the program
director of a homeless shelter. I have been with North Country Community College for
7 years, first as an adjunct, and now full time. Always remember that the core of
man's spirit comes from new experiences. Don't be afraid to try new things; think
new thoughts. We only get one go around on this big, beautiful planet. Make the most
of it! Be a force for change and impact lives!
