North Country Community College Foundation
For nearly sixty years, North Country Community College has prepared our friends and neighbors for critically important careers that keep our region strong. From nurses to childcare providers, addiction counselors to EMT’s, North Country alumni are the people who care for our families, support local businesses and provide the essential services we rely on every day.
Through the generosity of individuals, businesses and other foundations, the NCCC Foundation is proud to invest in the success of the college, its students and faculty by providing scholarships, emergency assistance, professional development opportunities and other college-related special projects.
Whenever one makes a commitment to NCCC, they are rewarded by witnessing the transformative power of public higher education firsthand. Students gain confidence, families find new opportunities, and local employers gain the skilled professionals they need to thrive. When we invest in NCCC, we are not simply supporting a college; we are investing in people, in possibilities, and in a stronger future for our entire region.

One of the top priorities of the NCCC Foundation is to provide scholarships to our students and help them incur less debt to support their education. Each year we offer thirty competitive scholarships and are awarded based on academic performance, program and/or financial need. Scholarships are funded through both annual donations and endowed funds established by individuals, local businesses and other entities. Each year we offer thirty competitive scholarships, valued at over $55,000.
Opportunity Scholarship
Since 2020, the Opportunity Scholarship Program has helped make a college education more accessible to non-traditional age students from Essex and Franklin counties as well as the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe. This scholarship is designed for those without an associate’s degree or higher whose responsibilities such as raising children, and working, pose barriers to attending college and improving their employability and earning potential. Since its inception, the Opportunity Scholarship has awarded over $500,000. Thank you to the following donors who have supported the Opportunity Scholarship:
