Epril Nossent and Melody Blackmore Announced as Recipients of Prestigious Chancellor's Award For Student Excellence
Congratulations to Epril Nossent and Melody Blackmore for being selected as recipients of The Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence. The award is the highest honor bestowed upon a student by SUNY and recognizes those who have best demonstrated the integration of academic excellence with accomplishments in the areas of leadership, athletics, community service, creative and performing arts, or career achievement.
“All of us at North Country are very proud of Epril and Melody. To be recognized with the Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence is an incredible honor, and it’s a great testament to not only their achievements during their time at NCCC, but their incredible grasp of civic responsibilities at the College and within our communities,” said Dr. Tyrell.
The recipients of this prestigious award will be honored by Dr. Nancy Zimpher, the Chancellor of the State University of NewYork, at a formal ceremony in April.
With 10 freshman on the 2013-2014 women's basketball roster, freshman guard Courtney Boyea has helped to lead the Saints to a very successful 16-11 regular season record. Recently, Boyea was named to the 2014 All-Mountain Valley Athletic Conference Basketball Team.
"Courtney does everything that is asked of her and is an all around class act," said Coach Dumont. "She works hard each and every day and exactly the type of student-athlete we want representing our program."
Courtney is an Individual Studies major and wants to pursue a teaching career.
