Nursing Program Lectures Shift to Remote Instruction

Sept. 16, 2021

SARANAC LAKE – Students in the college’s nursing program were notified Tuesday evening that the lecture portion of their PN and ADN classes will shift to remote instruction, effective Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021.

The decision was predicated on prevention and a desire to:
  • keep potential exposures lower by minimizing the number of times larger groups are together on campus (and nursing is the largest group of classes on campus),
  • keep continuity and equity of nursing instruction across all three campuses, and
  • maintain the ability for our nursing students to safely attend clinical.
At the start of the semester, the college advised all students that we may have to pivot plans for instruction based upon the need to protect the health and safety of students and employees.

While the college is not seeing increases in infections on our campuses at this time, the North Country region continues to see higher than average positivity rates. Moving the lecture portion of PN and ADN classes to remote was one more step we could take to help limit the spread.
