Jerrad Dumont was recently appointed the Saints Head Women’s Basketball Coach. He will spend this year recruiting, with plans of reemerging the program for the 2008-2009 season.
Dumont attended North Country from 2003-2005, where he was a two sport athlete in both soccer and basketball. During his senior year, Dumont was named captain and helped lead his team to a Northern Independence Conference Championship and to the semifinals of the Region III tournament. Jerrad was honored with the Athlete of the Year Award for his achievements in both soccer and basketball. After graduation in 2005, Jerrad was recruited to play basketball for the Plattsburgh State Cardinals under Coach Tom Curle. At Plattsburgh, he would become a two-year starter and a senior captain. He again would help lead the team to back to back conference championships earning them NCAA tournament appearances both years. The Cardinals ended up losing their first NCAA game in 2006, but came back Dumont’s senior year and won, making them one of the top 30 teams in the Nation. Dumont graduated from Plattsburgh State in 2007 with his Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice.
Dumont is from Chateaugay, NY where he was a two sport athlete at Chateaugay High School, achieving All Northern honors for both soccer and basketball.
