Campus Safety and Security 2009 Clery Act Report
We all can play a role in promoting campus safety. Alert the Office of Campus and Student Life or the Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services in the event you witness or hear anything that is of concern to you. We will listen. Don't assume information has reached necessary personnel from others. Communicate with college officials!
An Incident Report Form should be completed in the event an incident occurs on campus, at the residence halls, clinicals or college sponsored events. Examples include but are not limited to personal injury, vehicle or property damage, theft, or disruptive behavior. Go to your electronic portal to view and complete the Incident Report Form. Hard copies of the form are available from the Office of Campus and Student Life.
Critical information will be posted throughout campus, and electronically via the college web site and electronic portal. Mass notification will also take place via your college email account. On a regular basis, it is important to access your Student Portal and student email to ensure receipt of up to date information impacting you and the campus community.
Cancellation of Classes
Cancellation of classes due to severe weather is rare. Each student must decide whether the conditions are safe to drive to and from the College. If a student decides not to attend classes due to inclement weather, it is the student's responsibility to contact the faculty member to make up all missed work.
In the event the college is closed due to weather or safety related incidents, the following communication resources can be accessed for information:

Parking Policy
Visitors are welcome to park in any location. In advance or when you arrive, request a temporary parking permit from a college representative. Temporary permits will only be valid for the date and vehicle for which it is originally issued.
Designated parking applies to weekdays during the academic calendar from 7:30am - 4:00pm. For students and employees, parking is permitted only in areas marked or signed as parking spaces and zoned appropriately for the permit being displayed. Vehicles parked on campus without a permit, or parked in an area where the permit is not valid will be ticketed. A campus map outlining parking is distributed when parking permits are issued. Maps are also posted around campus. Please note designated parking.
Parking permits are required and must be displayed on all student and employee vehicles including motorcycles. Students and employees may register up to three vehicles. Go to the college's electronic portal to register. Once the vehicle(s) are electronically registered, parking decals can be picked up from the Office of Campus and Student Life.
Residential students are required to park thier vehicles at the Residence Halls or in designated "Open Parking" on weekdays between the hours of 7:30am and 4:00pm. Violators will be ticketed.
Handicapped Parking: Students, staff and visitors accessing handicapped parking must have the required disabled placard or license plate. For additional information contact the Office of the ADA 504 Coordinator at the Saranac Lake campus. Branch campus personnel and students should contact the Office of Campus & Student Life. Necessary vehicle information will be recorded and a special parking permit may be issued for a specified period of time. A physician's certification is necessary to verify eligibility for handicapped parking. The physician's certification should clearly state the nature of the disability and specify the anticipated length of disability.

Any person who receives a parking citation who believes there are reasons to appeal the ticket may file a written appeal.
