Program
Begun in 2003, the RAVE Committee has brought representatives from student life, athletics, and the residence halls together with faculty, staff, and students to implement NCCC’s Alcohol and Other Drug policies. The focus has been to provide educational opportunities to promote wellness, personal, and academic success for the entire College community. The Committee has identified athletes, first year students, and residence hall students as groups at- risk. The Committee has developed an evidence- based program using national models. Some of the group’s activities include:
  • Gathering student beliefs and self-reports of activities via national questionnaires, college questionnaires, focus groups, and program evaluations, to identify NCCC trends and compare them to Regional and National norms…More
  • Coordination and integration of activities with the POWER (Wellness Committee) through common membership
  • Faculty and Staff training including but not limited to MVP, TiPs, BASICS, and OASAS…More
  • Student leadership development…More
  • Social norms messaging…More
  • Integrating technology to promote wellness and social norm messages
  • Infusion of wellness into academic arena…More
