2007-08 Saints Season Outlook
The North Country Men’s Hockey team is looking forward to another season of college hockey in Saranac Lake. The 2006-07 team finished second place in Region III, including a 3-2 overtime loss in the playoff championship. The Saints were also runners-up in the 2006 Becker College Invitational Tournament as the only non NCAA member school. This year the Saints look to continue their search for excellence on the ice, in the classroom and in the community.
The Saints return a solid core including 2007-08 team captain and senior defenseman Patrick Tremblay (Edmonton, AB). Also returning on defense are a pair of North Country area players Evan Labarge (Massena, NY) and Steve Lemieux (Ogdensburg, NY) and 2006-07 NJCAA All Rookie Team member Lee Zirk (Cranbrook, BC). Up front the Saints have leading rookie scorer Colin Port (Cranbrook, BC) along with Matt Becker (Olds, AB) and Tupper Lake, NY native Scott Bell. In goal this year Chris Lambertsen looks to build on an impressive rookie season that saw him earn All American honors. The veteran players will lead a talented group of newcomers to the Saints program to another season of exciting college hockey in the Adirondacks.
The Saints also look forward to continuing their work with the students of Lake Placid Elementary School in their after school program along with hosting youth hockey nights for the Saranac Lake Youth Hockey Association. Saranac Lake Civic Arena is the home venue for the Saints providing a great venue for the local community to come and watch THE college hockey team of the Adirondacks. Come watch the Saints in their quest for excellence on the ice, in the classroom, and in the community.
