Saranac Lake – The North Country Community College Saranac Lake Campus Library is open for use by the community, in addition to students.
Residents of Essex and Franklin Counties have book borrowing privileges to the library’s collection of more than 50,000 titles, said Brian O’Connor, the college’s director of library services.
“Beyond academic works, we have leisure reading, books on the arts, and many, many titles on North Country topics.” O’Connor said. “It’s a very different collection from our local Saranac Lake Free Library, and we invite the community to come to campus and check us out.”
Local residents also have access to the library’s collection of popular DVD films and can use its online databases. They can secure borrowing privileges by submitting some basic information during a visit to the library.
“The library is always open to the community when classes are in session, and we have special community hours on Sunday when parking is readily available,” O’Connor said.
The library is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, and from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. It’s closed on Saturday.
