Classification of Students

 

Matriculated Status is assigned to those students who have been accepted by the College into a degree or certificate program.  A matriculated student may enroll as a full-time or part-time student and may attend either day or evening classes. 

 

Non-matriculated Status is assigned to those students who are not active candidates for a degree.  This status may also be assigned to students whose previous high school and/or college records indicates achievement below the standards set for matriculation.  All students must matriculate into a program after completing 24 credits of study unless permission is granted from the Vice President for Academic Affairs.

 

Full-Time Student is a matriculated or non-matriculated student who is enrolled in 12 or more credit hours per semester.

 

Part-Time Student is matriculated or non-matriculated student who is enrolled for less than 12 credit hours per semester.

 

Freshman is any student that has completed less than 23 credit hours.

 

Sophomore is any student that has completed 24 or more credit hours.
