Degree Programs - AAS Chemical Dependency Counseling

Associates of Applied Science in Chemical Dependency Counseling (HEGIS 5506)

This program has been developed to address the burgeoning needs of society rife with alcohol and substance abuse problems.  These conditions have tremendous and far-reaching impact on children, families and other members of our communities.  In response, the substance abuse and chemical dependency fields have expressed the need for liberally educated and trained individuals to serve those individuals, families and communities experiencing the impact of these problems.  NCCC is well-poised to offer a degree that will prepare individuals for a career in the substance abuse and chemical dependency field as well as offer our community trained providers in the field.  This program also offers students the training necessary to sit of the CASAC certification exam.  Students are required to achieve a 2.0 final grade point average in each HUS designated course in order to progress in the program.
